The Accountancy Program provides students with general accounting education that prepares them for careers in accounting and related fields, including corporate accounting, public accounting, government accounting, accounting information systems and auditing. It is an interdisciplinary program comprising core business and management education courses, as well as courses in accounting, auditing, business law, taxation, finance and economics.
The program trains graduates to pass the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Licensure Examination given by the Professional Regulatory Commission. Graduates are equipped with the skills, knowledge and values that enable them to become competent and successful professionals who provide objective and ethical services to assist stakeholders in problem solving and effective decision making. Extensive opportunities are likewise available for students to learn from case studies and gain practical experience. Graduates are also encouraged to pursue lifelong learning and continuous professional development. Students are required to complete 400 hours of internship or mentored practical experience and engage in accounting research.
